OSBORNE KING REGIONAL WINNERS FOR HOTEL AND LEISURE DEALS FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!
26 March 2014
For the second consecutive year, Osborne King came top of the poll for hotel and leisure deals in Northern Ireland during 2013 according to figures published by Estates Gazette magazine in its annual EGi’s Most Active Agents 2013 competition. The results are based purely on the number of transactions undertaken by a property agent during the year.
Over the course of 2013, Osborne King’s licensed team was actively involved in the sale of over 30 licensed premises. Two of the most noteworthy sales of the year were those of two large portfolios, CHA and Kurkova. The Cha portfolio ( Diamond public houses) comprising 14 licensed outlets was sold in the first quarter of 2013, while later in the year the company acted as selling agent for the Kurkova portfolio (formerly owned by Botanic Inns) of seven licensed outlets featuring several landmark Belfast city centre premises including The Kitchen Bar, McHugh’s and The Apartment. Other significant sales during 2013 included The Marine Hotel, Ballycastle, The Carlton Hotel, Belleek and the Highways Hotel in Larne.
John Martin who heads up the company’s Licensed Premises team commented: “We’re delighted once again to be recognised as the leading agent for Leisure and Hotel in Northern Ireland. Last year was certainly a busy year for us despite the prevailing economic challenges, however, looking ahead to 2014 and the prospect of economic growth, we are expecting a number of new opportunities to come to the market offering value for money for buyers.”
